I-Bus Corporation (Late 1990’s)

I-Bus Diviasion of Maxwell Labs was very active in bus standards for industrial applications at that time. Curtis Alexander brought me in for some contract work. This design was a one-off excursion into the PCI Industrial Manufacturers Group (PICMG) realm for me. It is a full-blown PC that will fit into a single PICMG chassis slot. Sorry for the specs that are hard to read. I will try to fix this with a better photo. They had developed several generations of these processors. So there was plenty of precedent to follow. It was still challenging to fit everything required on the board with very fast CPU clocks. Another challenge for me involved the use of Mentor schematic design tools that I had to learn. It was the first time I got away with design by literally waiving my hands. Fortunately they had a dedicated PCB designer who could make all my placement fit and then route it.
